The School of Arts, English and Languages is opening its doors through the Sonic Arts Research Centre to showcase amazing work around the theme of “Sounds from Beyond”. Join us for several showcase events where you’ll experience anything from hands-on workshops on sound synthesis and sound editing, to talks and demos on themes such as ‘The Science of Victorian Ghosts’ or ‘Sounds from Space’. If you are really game you can even get a virtual haircut using binaural sound. We will showcase instruments of some of our students, and there will be a listening hour where you can play your own track in our gigantic 3D Sonic Space – a top professional, industry standard sound diffusion system – unique on this planet!
