The Antibiotic Apocalypse

Wednesday 21 February, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Suitability: 14+

£2

The development and spread of superbugs promises a terrible future, one which plunges medicine back into the dark-ages – a simple cut to your finger could leave you fighting for your life; getting your appendix removed, a hip replacement or childbirth could become deadly medical procedures. Bacterial pathogens have developed resistance to our miracle medicine “antibiotics“ and without swift action we could be facing The Antibiotic Apocalypse. Glimpse into this potential terrible future via the short-film CATCH, hear from experts in infection control and those developing new medical treatments to tackle antibiotic resistant bacteria, take part in hands-on agar art and infection control workshops and win prizes beating the Superbugs Game.
