Dr Jeff Ralph explores how statistics reveal the changes in young people’s lives. Official statistics tell the story of how our lives have developed over a century of dramatic change. He will talk about the statistics behind the measurement of our daily lives, including examples of what life was like for teenagers through the last century as revealed by official statistics.
Dr Ralph has given talks to sixth form and University students. He has managed the Gloucester Branch of the Mathematical Association, organising talks on mathematics for local schools. Dr Ralph is the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) Willian Guy lecturer for 2017-18, and has been given RSS support to deliver lectures to school students throughout the UK.
