Why did sex evolve? How has sex shaped human psychology? Is there really a biological necessity for sex?
Showcasing three unique viewpoints. Social psychologist Dr. Holly Parker (Harvard University) will discuss how evolutionary forces still impact how human beings relate to each other. Dr. Edel Hyland (QUB) will take a broad perspective – asking, why does sexual reproduction hold many advantages to the success of all life? Finally, science communicator Emer Maguire (UK Famelab Winner and host of BBC Radio Ulster’s Science & Stuff) will give her very unique perspective!
Our presenters highlight the prominent role women have in science following the recent award of a Gold Athena Swan award to the School of Biological Sciences at QUB.
